How Are Direct Cremations Arranged?

Adirect cremation is when acremation takes place without a funeral service. The commemoration activities that a family might arrange for the deceased are separate from the actual disposal of their body. A significant number of people we interviewed who had chosen direct cremation, or, you know, had organized one, went to collect the ashes in person. Some people er a smaller number received through the post and other people just don't collect them at all.
