Cheta Reintroduction

Before the current action plan came out, there were some conservationists who were a little cautiously optimistic about the potential of doing cheta re introduction. Government policies have been followed since independence that have really damaged the grass lands. So legitimizing these grasslands as commons can protect both the livelihoods of the people as well as the animals that inhabit them. But even at this time, these scientists did note that the reintroduction project is very focused on protected areas,. so it will not really address this bigger problem of grassland conservation.
