The Strangeness of Animals
There are large populations of free roaming donkeys all over the world. They're often working animals or certainly ancestors of working animals that were set free. So we have this idea of the donkey sanctuary and the donkey being kind of relieved of its burden of work. What about the metaphorical burden that they carry? Are we okay with it? Well, I mean, I don't think I can personally stop people using animals symbolically but I think that we can sort of think about what that means.
