Are We Transporting Oblivion?

I think in some ways, we become nothing when we read. We disappear. We forget we have bodies. And i remember as a kid those moments when i would be completely lost in a book and look up and the sun had set. You know, for hours i was unaware of even having a body. I guess that's the right kind of oblivion, transporting oblivion. There is sort of a sort of disappearance there that we all do every day, kind of amidst our privilege,. That we can disappear into our privilege and not see what's going on in the world. But at the same time, if we let everything happening in the world, we'd probably be in us.
