Anna Jane and Henry Kio
Anna Jane Cheney met Henry Kio at a pub in 1989. She was drawn to his quiet intellect and cheery exterior. Her family didn't feel he was right for her because of the ten-year age gap between them. The Chinese suspected that Henry might still be romantically involved with his ex-wife. Anna Jane insisted motherhood wasn't high on her list of priorities, there were concerns she might change her mind in the future.
