How Do Institutions Function?

In the 1930s, one farmer was able to grow enough farm in one year to feed four people for one year. Nowadays, that's an example of a nearly more Latin miraculous increase in productivity. I would argue that as technology progresses and we become more efficient, it therefore becomes incumbent on us to ask how can we live with ourselves if there are some who have nothing? We need to ask ourselves, what's the point of all this advance unless it's shared by everyone?
