Italy's Allies in the Great War?

Italy was an ally of austria, hungary prior to the war. Germany is the most powerful a military power. They need something to counterbalance france. So italy wants to be allied with germany. It made sense as long as it was a defensive alliance that was going to keep them safe. But when it starts to look like it might drag them into war, it no longer makes any strategic sense for itly forstayin a trip alliance with me.
