The Importance of Tracking Calories

Eating only 1,200 calories a day is something that I do here really regularly from patients but also see online. We've spoken to live out our kick dietitian on the podcast about it before. She says calorie counting apps are not actually accurate as per the Australian dietetic standard. This number is actually the amount of calories a day that we recommend for two to three year old kids. If you were a 65 kilo person, just to hit the bare minimum daily serves of food groups that you would need for protein, carbs, fats, fruit, vegetables and dairy, that's at least 1800 calories. In other words, that in itself per day needs at least 1200 calories.
