What's Up With Content Free Physics?
Until recently Damon Binder was completing a PhD at Princeton in theoretical physics. He says the big split in what people work on in fundamental physics is between more particle oriented things and more cosmology oriented things. If you're an experimentalist, that usually means building very, very big experiments like the LHC in order to collide. But if you're a theorist, you're mostly messing around with blackboards or whiteboards depending on the department.
