The SEC Regrets Bill Hindman's Speech in 2018
Bill Hindman was the director of corporate finance at the SEC. He gave a speech in 2018 that sounded like a policy speech, really. Sounded like guidance. A lot of people interpreted that speech as saying a cryptocurrency network, once it appears to be sufficiently decentralized, is not a security anymore.
