The 2300 Day Prophecy
William Miller took the 2300 days spoken of in the King James Version as a period of 2300 years. He concluded that Christ would return in the year 1843 and he started a very popular movement in America known after him as the Millerites. Many Millerites made preparations for Jesus' return and some sold their possessions. It's estimated that a hundred thousand people had become believers in Miller's message but on the appointed date, many stayed up past midnight waiting for Jesus to return.
