Both chimpanzes and benobos are closely related to us, so studying their behaviour teaches us about our own. Binobos were also more flexible with their etiquette. They abbreviated or completely skipped greetings and good byes with closer companions. You're more likely to give a quick nod when you meet up with a friend, but you would give a more formal hullo and handshake to someone you've just met.
