i like that our poet talks about how she's tripping over the roots. She 's in search of a mediaeval plant whose leaves have a magical effect. They can turn into birds, or fish, depending on where they drop. And then suddenly the desire for peace wells up in her as if to suggest that when she trips, perhaps falls, among those spiky voodo lilies, her imagination takes off.
