The Pros and Cons of Moving to a Faster Language

Django sometimes gets described as going down here, but when it's not doing anything, it can't be still hold doing that same thing that all the web frameworks are doing. I was wondering would Instagram at the scale there at need needed to have moved away from Python to a, you know, a faster language quote unquote. So far, the conclusion has been that we'd rather work with Python and try to improve Python and make it more efficient than trying to rewrite all the existing code in a different language.
