The downsides of multitasking are taking longer on stuff and feeling stressed out. I imagine the benefits of monotasking is the opposite of those things. You get more done, you decrease your stress level so that feeling of being overwhelmed leads to less stress if you're monotask instead of multitasking. The third thing is you increase your happiness and that a lot of that comes from improving your relationships with other people.
