I Was One of Three Black Girls in Her Class of 19 54

My grandmother and granfather had never completed high school. My mam, the baby, went to potland high school where all her brothers had gone. She was valedictorian of e high school class, again, one of a handfulf people of color. Went on to radcliffe college, now obviously part of harvard, and she was one of three black girls in her class of 19 54. That can be lonely.
