Wombat Facts - The Ramsaya Magna
Wombats are made of Australian animals. And they have cube shaped feces by the way. Did you know wombats had ancient ancestors the size of really big sheep? Wow. Scientists didn't know much about the giant wombat species called Ramsaya Magna until recently because they'd only ever found random fossil pieces of its teeth and jaw. They've just been seven long years studying a complete Ramsaya magna skull that was discovered in a cave near Rockhampton in central Queensland. The scientists used the skull to figure out how old the ancient wombat was, what it looked like, and where it lived.
