The Entropy of Victory
In the French Revolution, Jacobins and Gerondons wind up at each other's throats even though there's no way socioeconomically to distinguish them. These questions can't be explained by where people grew up or what their socio-economic class is. A lot of it comes down to individual biography, character, and choices. The divisions between the revolutionaries are also going to inform and be informed by our new post-revolutionary regimes relations with their foreign neighbors.
