Canadian Base Funds Cannot Buy or Sell Bit Coin Futures
The official line coming from the sec is that it's worried about manipulation in the bit coin spot market. Given that the c m e futures are federally regulated by c f t c, they are supposedly free from manipulation. There is a history of futures market manipulation going back decades. And the more disjointed it becomes from the spot market, the less the long term returns.
