Exchange Traded Notes - What Are They and Where Can You Buy Them?

The best place and actually maybe the only place to buy them at least now is the Treasury Direct website. Exchange traded notes aren't as common as bond ETFs because they don't own the underlying bonds. If you hold bonds directly then you do from with an instrument that doesn't really hold any assets directly if that makes sense.
