The Rise of Monopoly in the Internet

The internet is actually kind of uniquely interesting in this aspect because a lot of it is based out of basically private public partnerships. The real precursor to the internet was a project of the Defense Department. In many places in the United States, there's literally only one provider and so they therefore have no incentive to review a good service.
