What Happened to the MeToo Movement?
The MeToo movement had both hard and soft achievements. It enabled society to make space for women to make accusations against a culture of misogyny and violence against them. Success is not the result of one protest event alone, but rather of what we do in many years of protests insisting on the same grievance. Social media has made it possible to turn out millions of people for a demonstration. But that kind of turnout isn't necessarily disciplined or easy to sustain.
