I think it is very clear to people who negotiate for a living. What works? The hits at the top end, they know what is a hit. Media companies cancel shows that are not successful and they renew shows that are successful. We need a objective transparent success metric so that you don't have to rely on how many Halloween costumes are sold or what people on social media are talking about.
