What Is Old English and What Does It Mean?

Old English is a Germanic language that belongs to the same family as Dutch, German, Yiddish, Afrikaans and so on. It's spoken in England between around 600 AD and around 1100 AD. The grammar of Beyulf might be able to tell us something about the age of the poem or for example, which part of the country it was originally composed in. But from my perspective, I look at noun phrases.
