The Importance of Young Blood in Human Lifespan
Researchers found that the cells in the hippocampus, the region associated with learning and memory, expressed genes that caused neurons to form more connections. This didn't happen in mice treated with blood from older human donors. So plasma from older humans did not have much of an effect. Plasma from younger sources, umbilical cords, specifically, by the way, turns out to be top notch.
