Are Teenage Girls Going Through This Pandemic?
The CDC's 2021 Youth Risk Behavior Survey includes responses from over 17,000 high school students all over the country. These are the highest rates of sadness reported in the past decade and they reflect the growing mental health crisis for a particularly vulnerable population, teenage girls. The fact that this is having an outsized impact on girls also isn't new information. In 2019, a Pew research study found that teenage girls were three times more likely than boys their age to experience depression.
