Apathalia: When we look at tissues, they're comprised of cells that sort of come together to work a similar function. She says there's four main types - nervous tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue and epithelial tissue. Apathalia: Many students need to go through the epithelium, need to understand it and apply it. We're going to give you the information that you need to understand epithelia.
One of the four tissue types of the body, epithelia lines and protects our organs from the external and internal environment. In this episode, Dr Matt & Dr Mike explain how the different shape and layers of epithelia tell you what function it performs (form = functions) and highlight examples in the body where you can find each type. They also explore cancer, metaplasia, dysplasia, and Dr Matt's mums skin cancer diagnosis and surgery.
