The only known moving mud pot in the world is located in California's Imperial Valley, just north of Mexico. Over the last few years, this mud pot has traveled several miles, endangering an important highway and a rail line. A hot spring deep underground is located under a large rock plate that is slowly shifting due to the frequent earthquakes in the area.
