The Importance of Streoscopic Photography in the Modern World
In the 1930s Morioka develops this way of taking 360 pictures essentially around mostly people, and then basically doing 3D scanning this way by shining a thin stream of light against the figures face usually. He could then print them up and cut them out and stitch them together and then use that as a last to make a bronze sculpture. This to me kind of gives a very tangible sense of how the medium right can stand in our world and change us and become part of our our lived experience. It was a very kind of easy way of telling that story of the of the new real by hand ending with that and chapter.
