The Fed's Terminal Rate Is Nearing Five Percent
The Fed's terminal rate, the level at which the Fed is expected to stop raising interest rates, is now well north of five percent. With its latest rate hike, the federal funds rate is between three and a quarter and four percent. The Dow shed 1.4 percent on the week, while the S&P and NASDAQ fell 3.3% and 5.6%.
