i'm chillion row. I work in bion phromatics. i spent about ten years in academic research, where i was mainly focused on innhouse high performance compute clusters and optimizing analyses for those plusters. And a few years ago, i went frelance, and now i do very much the same thing, except that i work with start ups as they are kind of working through their up life cycle. Summary
Biology has been gaining a lot of attention in recent years, even before the pandemic. As an outgrowth of that popularity, a new field has grown up that pairs statistics and compuational analysis with scientific research, namely bioinformatics. This brings with it a unique set of challenges for data collection, data management, and analytical capabilities.
