Seneca's Stoic Theory of Anger

The way Seneca portrays anger, you're imagining that Seneca talking to Nero. It's not spoken of in ways which we would describe as kind of Christian because it's not saying anger is reflecting on an innermost core of yourself. But instead, anger is portrayed only ever as an error, an error to be corrected going off course. The word for screw up in Greek is hamartia, which means sin. And pakare in Latin or pakatum, so, you know, you can translate it as error or mistake if you want, but you can also translate it equally validly as sin.
