I know one of the ways I coped was I became an editor on the school yearbook. And the essay I wrote for the yearbook had to do with dealing with death. That really probably played a role in helping me to think about how does one cope with certain situations that are so difficult and so painful? You know, there was clearly a formative turn that probably led you in the direction of this work. But sticking with parents because the concept is universal in any relation.
Dr. Robert Brooks is a leading expert on resilience. He is a Doctor of Psychology, serves on the faculty of Harvard Medical School, and has authored or co-authored over 19 books. During the past 40 years, Dr. Brooks has also lectured nationally and internationally to thousands of parents, educators, mental health professionals, and business leaders on topics pertaining to motivation, resilience, family relationships, the qualities of effective leaders and executives, and balancing our personal and professional lives.
