In parkinson's patients, uric acid levels seem to be lower than others. Some studies show that purines are an inroad to raising uric acid as well. When you put uric acid on cells, and and it goes into the cell, it stimulates oxcidativ stress. An uric acid does block some forms of oxidativ stress, but it also can generate oxidatid stress.
