The film is based on a collection of audio recordings made by longshoremen in the 1970s and 80s. The men recorded themselves talking to each other about their day-to-day lives as they worked inside steel hulled ships. It's an archive that covers moment when containerization accelerated through the water front, says director Peter Travers.
