UX is a lifelong process and experience as well. I found the degree of buy in to be widely varying in terms of people's willingness to be a part of those kinds of things or to engage with them at more than a superficial level. For some companies and teams that's a culture shift. You can't just have a one two day workshop and then you don't talk about it ever again. It's a muscle that you have to build and I encourage people to build it slow. After a while it won't feel like extra, it'll just be the work.
