As an english teacher, i got a lot of criticism from other teachers. I just laughed about it and ignored them,. And then eventually they disappeared. So no one kicks a dead dog. It means if you are a true failure, if you are really nothing, you're a failure - well then nobody will criticise you. Most people will just ignore you. Do the very best you can.
