How to Communicate Intellectually With Aliens

If aliens come to earth, it's likelyt they have travelled through space in a way that we haven't been able to. And so probably they have some answers, or at least different perspectives on these questions. But if we just get a message from them, then there's no guarantee that they have developed anything that we've developed. I think the greatest thing we would learn from communicating intellectually with another species is just learning from the differences in our approaches.
