The Older Generation Don't Understand the Younger Generations
The language planning department maintains the icelandid dictionary and guides the public when it comes to the making of new words. They actually have a website where the public can send in ideas for new words. But even with a stream of new words, they is still tension around language and how it's used. The older generations tend to get very caught up in slang that the older generations don't understand and therefore think is stupid.
