Male Circumcision

Male circumcision is a difficult case because there are at least two different kinds of considerations going on. So one is whether circumcision is beneficial to health or alternatively, whether it is a detriment to functioning. And then the second question is whether the fact that it is a component part of many religious and cultural groups practice should mean that that should override any questions about the child's autonomy and bodily integrity. But i would say none of the claimed medical benefits to the boy who has been circumcised depend on the circumcision happening when he is very young. They can all be achieved when he is old enough to choose for himself.
