There have been a few high profile cases in the last few years where a donor who was not properly screened transmitted an infection to the recipient of the transplant. Medical centers that process stool and do these transplants are having a harder time doing that, because they don't want to do soe in wrong. There is some scepticism that you can whittle down the set of microbes into this standardized therapy and get something that is as potent as the full spectrum product from peces.
