The Second Plague Pandemic

The second plague pandemic led to a series of social outcomes that undermined faith in the catholic church. This paved the way to the protestant reformation, and i can see some parallels. I also do find it very interesting how things like religious faith and and faith in the authority of religious institutions doesn't always react to external events in a way that's strictly predictable from the outside. The movie 19 36 is based on a book by h g Wells called "the shape of things to come" which seems to operate as a kind of speculative future history. Anda thought it was curious that we do in science fiction to day still associate space travel with a cutting edge of future technology.
