What Is a Prophet a Man to Gain the Whole World and Lose His Soul?
Monica recognizes Augustine's wayward ways. But she still loves him, even after he's got his mistress or his common-law wife. She still visits him. And that love, as you said, just like those virtues became voices to her husband, her virtues and charity become voices to her son. The way God speaks through that.
