Socrates was full of questions, lived in Athens and went around. He'd probably ask a series of embarrassing questions that the aristocrat would be unable to answer. But what he's always doing as M.M. was saying is he's trying to get people to use their own minds. You can reason things out just by asking questions about something - but you have to ask the right questions.
