Early Iron Age Greece and Its Implications in the Aegean

The people of the early Iron Age often made their homes on the same sites as their Bronze Age ancestors. Thanks to the Iliad and Odyssey, we can be sure that people in the Iron Age told stories that hearkened back to the late Bronze Age. People still sewed their crops the same way and kept the same domestic animals. They may actually have kept more of their produce thanks to the absence of kings skimming taxes off the top. The balance of the evidence really does seem to point toward massive shifts after 1200 BC.
