The Old School Steerage Experience
The old school steerage experience that leaves many feeling as though they've been treated like cattle will endure well into the twentieth century. The physician is weeding out only those showing symptoms for the worst diseases, cholera, smallpox and so on. In january 19 o five, one steamship the fatherland gets cleared after autopsy show that non contagious pneumonia took the lives of its 11 dead. This spares the ships one thousand steerage passengers from a longer quarantine. But whatever miseries we've suffered on this voyage, there's nothing that compaes what happens next.
