Feng Ying began her lifelong association with ballet when she was just a little girl. In 1973, a dance school from Beijing came to her hometown, scouting for talent. The instabs of a ballet performer should be high and smooth, which is beautiful. But the instabs of my feet were not that high. According to the standards of today, I would not be recruited as a professional ballet trainee.
