A national movement has kind of coalesced around the idea of deregulating airlines. A coalition of free market economists and liberal democrats fought to loosen the reins on airlines. Despite unanimous opposition from airline executives deregulation was signed into law by president jimmy carter in 1978 Yeah, now this is not going to entirely work the way they want it to right? There's as we all know as we're all living through but it does make air travel a lot cheaper initially um Now we'll talk later about kind of where things go from there.
