Lula's Triangulation Strategy in Brazil Isn't Pius Nonsense

Lula campaigned from the center. His campaigning theme was basically uniting Democrats as he put it against totalitarianism. He campaigned on reversing the more extreme of both Snaro's policies, but he was really reassuring middle-class voters and investors that he wasn't going to do anything very wildly radical. So that's triangulation in a nutshell. The left gets words and gestures and symbols, the right gets deeds.
