SRE is a methodical way of managing service management teams. It was developed by Tom LaMicelli, the former head of Google's reliability team. DevOps has taken SRE and turned it into an industry-wide process that can be confusing for customers. The concept of error budgets allows developers to experiment with new tools before they are deployed.
